Ros Altmann in line for Tory peerage

Ros Altmann is to be nominated as a Conservative peer and will be made a minister with responsibility for consumer protection if the party wins next month's general election.

Among her first duties will be to consider charge caps for pension products and to widen the scope of Pension Wise to provide guidance to working people of all ages, the Conservatives announced. Prime Minister David Cameron described Altmann as the country's "leading expert" on pensions and said she would be responsible for completing the government's "revolution" of the retirement landscape.
