Tenet launches 'esoteric' products masterclasses for all advisers

Adviser support group Tenet is holding three investment master classes to help advisers understand alternative products such as venture capital trusts (VCTs) and enterprise investment schemes (EIS).

The training will be open to Tenet and non-Tenet advisers in a bid to address the more complicated products independent advisers have had to consider since the introduction of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) rules. These will also include exchange traded funds (ETFs), investment trusts, and other specialist investments such as non-mainstream pooled investments (NMPIs). The classes will explain selection criteria and the regulator's requirements for assessing client suitability, following new COBS rules which came into effect in January 2014.
