Financial planners anticipate new business boom

Most financial planners - defined as those with the certified financial planner (CFP) designation - expect to see client numbers rise over the coming years, a global survey has shown.

More than three quarters (78%) of planning firms said they expected more people to seek advice from financial planners in the next 12 months, while as many as 90% expected their client base to grow over the next five years. The research was carried out in the last four months of 2013 on behalf of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), owner of the global Certified Financial Planner certification programme, which is distributed in the UK by the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP).
