Alliance Trust Investments MD Troughton to exit

Edward Troughton, managing director of Alliance Trust Investments, is to leave the group to pursue another opportunity in the industry.

Troughton, who joined Alliance Trust from BlackRock in February 2008 and helped build up the asset management business, will leave the group before the end of 2013. The firm's senior management team will continue to manage the day-to-day running of the business, with fund manager responsibilities unchanged and CEO Katherine Garrett-Cox (pictured) remaining at the helm. "We remain committed to the long-term growth of the ATI business so that it will be a positive contributor to the results of the trust," Garrett-Cox said.
