MPs to grill SFO bosses on 'corruption' claims

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) was accused of cronyism, misuse of public funds and possible corruption of some of its top bosses in an official investigation, according to The Times.

The report said senior figures at the agency were accused of favouritism and handing family members 'plum jobs' after a Cabinet Office investigation. It also said expensive management consultants were hired in breach of government spending rules. The paper added executives also accepted gifts from consultants, such as a luxury spa weekend worth more than £1,000. The executives were cleared of wrongdoing by the Cabinet Office inquiry, however top SFO bosses will now face a panel of MPs looking into the claims.
