Annuity rates continue to struggle

Annuity rates failed to recover from their continued poor performance last month, according to Alexander Forbes Annuity Bureau.

Its figures for October have revealed single life annuities have continued to struggle while smokers and inflation-linked markets have taken a knock after a period of relative stability. The rates offered by the top four providers currently stand at: Single life Aviva £5,160 Legal & General (L&G) £4,871.28 Canada Life £4,781.28 Hodge Life £4,767 Inflation-linked Standard Life £2,914.80 Aviva £2,850 L&G £2,726.76 Canada Life £2,726.76 Smokers Canada Life £6,099 Aviva £6,060 L&G £5,841.24 LV= £5,718.42 Reliance Mutual exited the top four pro...
