Wheatley: customers must be at heart of financial services

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) offers a "huge opportunity" for the regulator and businesses to start afresh, Martin Wheatley has said.

The CEO designate of the incoming regulator and managing director of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) was speaking at today's launch of Journey to the FCA. He said the FCA is keen to "help firms get back to putting their customers at the heart of how they do business". Wheatley pinpointed its three objectives: • Consumers get financial services and products that meet their needs from firms they can trust • Firms compete effectively with the interests of their customers and the integrity of the market at the heart of how they run their business • Markets and financial systems ...
