Model portfolios 'critical' for platforms

Advisers are increasingly looking for platforms which offer the "critical feature" of model portfolio and discretionary asset management services, according to The Platforum.

Research drawn from over 1,100 adviser interviews revealed 35% of platform-using advisers currently use model portfolios with 39% planning to adopt them in six months' time. "This is a critical feature for platforms to support," said The Platforum. However, its research also suggests advisers are turned off by tools and enhancements considered surplus to requirements.
