Scot Prov pays 98% of life claims

Scottish Provident paid 98% of its life cover claims in 2010.

In total it paid 483 claims for over £37m with an average of £77,712 per claim. Just 6% were for claimants aged under 35, with those aged 45 to 54 and 55 to 64 both accounting for 28% of claims made. The average aged of claimant was 54 and policies had been in force for an average of 96 months before claim. The provider declined 11 claims.
