Businessman jailed for failure to cooperate with FSA

A French businessman has been jailed for 18 months for refusing to cooperate with the FSA in an investigation into an possible illegal investment scheme.

Francois de Dietrich was given the sentence at the the High Court in Northern Ireland after he failed to comply with a Court Order obtained by the FSA ordering him to give details of where his assets were held as well as other information. The FSA had previously obtained another High Court order restraining any potential unauthorised activity and freezing £20,223,485 assets of Francois de Dietrich and ETIC Solutions Ltd, who are believed to be behind the illegal investment scheme.
