Alliance & Leicester brand to disappear this month

Santander will complete its rebrand of 300 Alliance & Leicester (A&L) branches by the end of November, bringing the total number of Santander branches on the UK high street to over 1,300.

The first A&L branch to be renamed Santander is the Horsefair branch in Leicester City Centre. The move will complete a process that started on January 11, 2010 when the first Abbey branch was changed to Santander. Santander has made several of its services available to A&L customers, including its fee-free Zero current account for A&L mortgage or investment customers and fee-free ATM usage in Spain.
