Brits need protection at home and abroad - FP

Friends Provident is urging Britons to protect themselves for life as readily as they do for travel.

It says people frequently take out travel insurance to protect themselves when abroad but ignore the need for protection at home. New findings from the provider reveal that only one third of Brits (31%) have some form of cover in the event they become ill or are unable to work, but a massive 81% take out or have travel insurance when they go abroad. This is despite the main reasons for taking out travel insurance (cover against accident or illness and for peace of mind) being the same as those for taking out income protection.
