The coalition Government is set to detail how it plans to make £6n in spending cuts this year at its first Budget on Tuesday 22 June.
The Tories pledged to hold a Budget within 50 days of coming to power before the election. Osborne confirmed the date at a briefing with his Lib Dem deputy David Laws, the Treasury Chief Secretary. Last week, Prime Minister David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg unveiled an 'agreements reached' document following protracted negotiations between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.
