LV= promotes Rowney to life and pensions MD

LV= has promoted Richard Rowney to managing director, life and pensions, replacing the outgoing Rodney Cook.

Rowney, previously group chief operating officer at the group, started his new role on March 1. He joined the provider from Barclays in early 2007. "We are very pleased to have had an ideal candidate who we could appoint internally, to help us achieve continuity and an immediate transition," says group chief executive Mike Rogers. "As a main board member of LV=, Richard has been able to build up a good understanding of our life and pensions business and has contributed significantly to the turnaround of the LV= group over the last three years."
