The advised mortgage market is becoming increasingly competitive, according to Evaluate Technologies.
Alliance & Leicester was among the most competitive lenders, Evaluate says, indicating a mortgage broker resurgence. A&L only sells mortgages through brokers, and Evaluate says its position as the most competitive lender in Q4 means mortgage broking is getting better. The firm's analysis of best buy tables over the fourth quarter resulted in A&L hitting the top 10 23 times, compared to 19 for First Direct and 15 for Woolwich.
