Aviva CFO to join RBS board

Aviva's chief financial officer is to join the board of Aviva as a non-executive director.

Philip Scott, who earlier this year announced he was stepping down from his role at Aviva, will join the RBS board on 1 November. Scott will become chairman of a new risk committee for the bank, which is now 70% owned by the taxpayer due to the effects of the financial crisis. RBS also confirmed Penny Hughes, former head of Coca Cola in the UK and Ireland, will join the board on the same day as Scott. She will head up the group's pay committee.
