Bright Grey CI payouts hit 90%

Bright Grey paid nine in every 10 critical illness (CI) claims in the first half of 2009.

The 90% figure is 7% up on the year ending 31 March, although the number of claims rejected for non-disclosure rose to 2.5% from 1.8%. However, this total is still down on the 12% recorded in the year 2007/8. CI approval rates have been rising steadily in recent years, but this marks a significant leap for Bright Grey, which only recorded a payout figure of 83% for the 12 months to March.
