Don't become an IFA, advisers tell kids

Almost three quarters of advisers will encourage their children to follow a different career path, research suggests.

A straw poll conducted by IFA promotion service Marketing Innovation Forum (MIF) found 73% would rather their offspring steer clear of a life in financial advice. "I'm amazed by this result," AIFA director Robert Sinclair says. "I fully understand how difficult it is in the current climate to be a financial adviser but it's an important role and a very stable career choice."
