PEP/ISA merger approved

FUND supermarkets and platforms have welcomed the Government's plan to merge PEPs into the ISA wrapper despite the challenge it presents to updating their administrative systems.

Richard Eats, communications consultant at Cofunds, said the reforms would make it easier for consumers to understand their investments, but stressed the firm needed to examine the proposals in further detail before making a final judgement. Eats said the Treasury’s reform package would help in the distribution and promotion of ISAs because investors are learning how easy it is to access them through platforms and fund supermarkets.
