Asset managers support new IMA Income & Growth sector

The final definition for the IMA Equity Income and Growth sector has recieved a welcome from asset managers who are saying it will provide investors with greater clarity.

Neil Woodford's Invesco Perpetual Income and High Income portfolios in addition to Robin Geffen's Neptune Income fund are among the 17 funds that will switch to the IMA Equity Income and Growth sector. The IMA UK Equity Income and Growth sector is now defined as funds which invest at least 80% of their assets in UK equities and aim to have an historic yield on the distributable income in excess of 90% of the yield of the FTSE All Share Index at the fund's year end and which aim to produce a combination of both income and growth.
