Aegon launches helpline for protection customers

A helpline offering free round-the-clock counselling support to individual protection customers has been launched by Aegon Scottish Equitable.

In partnership with Care First, the service offers support to customers and their families in all areas of physical and mental health. Aegon says although the service is available when a claim isn’t being made, supporting families during a claim “is the main goal”. Rod McKie, head of marketing for individual protection at Aegon Scottish Equitable, says: “When someone is diagnosed with a critical illness or a family is coming to terms with the bereavement of a loved one, an insurance payout is rarely going to be the first thing on their mind. “Although the financial aspect of dealing with...
