Half of consumers applying for protection online receive immediate acceptance, enabling commission to be released faster, according to Bright Grey.

The protection arm of Royal London says its 'interactive quote and apply' underwriting system generates quick and detailed decisions, speeding up the application process for advisers and allowing customers to get cover faster. Approximately 12% fewer clients are asking for additional medical information, it says, helping to simplify the application process. On average, cases without medicals are offered cover 40% faster, now taking three days instead of five.
