The FSA has removed the permission of insurance and mortgage broker Aaron Nickols to conduct regulated activity, saying it has "serious concerns" over his firm's sales practices.
Leicestershire-based Nickols, trading as Warwick Finance, was a potential threat to the interests of customers or potential customers, the regulator says. It adds it believes the firm had been dishonestly making phone calls to customers, querying the suitability of their existing policies and providers and encouraging them to buy an alternative. It also reported the firm had taken out policies using clients' bank details without the clients' consent or knowledge, and has even made calls to clients pretending to be representing Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS).
