CII re-launches PPI learning package

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is re-launching a learning package for practitioners offering Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) in light of public concerns over selling practices.

The learning package will be available from early 2006 and will enable practitioners to assess their knowledge of PPI online. The topics covered will include: the PPI marketplace; cover provided; PPI products; claims issues; cancellation and refunds; FSA regulation; and demands and needs. The CII says although PPI can provide appropriate cover for customers against unexpected changes in personal circumstances, for some sales a professional level of consumer care has been lacking.
