Origo taps IFA business concerns

IFAs attending a meeting event hosted by Origo have expressed concern over the focus of ecommerce development, which they say is bypassing some important issues.

Paul Pettit, managing director at Origo, says the concerns, as expressed by the IFAs, cover a number of issues such as depolarisation, wraps, the practicalities of ecommerce, and frustration at what some see as provider-led solutions with little input from intermediaries. Depolarisation is not seen as necessarily a problem for new business because multi-tie rules enables intermediaries to tie into the same number of providers as previously if they so wish, Pettit says.
