Equitable appoints new non-executive director

Equitable Life has appointed a new non-executive director to its board, effective immediately.

The appointment of Ian Brimecome, chairman of Fox-Pitt Kelton’s advisory board and until December a non-executive director for Winterthur Life, follows the retirement of Ron Bullen and Michael Pickard from the board at the end of 2006. According to Equitable Life Brimecome has 30 years experience in the insurance industry and has previously held various roles at Merrill Lynch, along with the roles of head of international insurance at Bankers Trust, and managing director and head of global investment banking at Putnam Lovell NBF.
