Buyer interest not translating into sales - RICS

There has been little movement in the average number of housing transactions per surveyor, despite buyer interest rising for a third consecutive month.

According to the latest RICS survey, interest in the market has continued to pick up, with 16% more surveyors reporting a rise than a fall in new buyer enquiries. Interest is strongest in Wales, while the balance is also improving in London. However, the average number of transactions per agency over the last three months has continued to fall, down to 9.9 from 10 in December - the lowest figure since the survey began in 1978.
