The Association of IFAs (AIFA) has accused the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of still wanting to ban commission based payments two years after it defeated the regulator on the same issue.
Tracey Mullins, director of public affairs at AIFA, says the FSA’s announcement that its review of retail distribution would look at the suitability of commission and the possible alternatives to it does not come as a surprise. She says the regulator’s position on commission based payments is well known - despite the fact the regulator states it is not its job to say what should or should not exist in the market.
