Commission adversely influences advice to consumers, according to nine out of ten financial services executives at a Watson Wyatt-hosted debate.
Most of the audience at the Watson Wyatt Debating Forum - held on 8 November - believe commission affects the delivery of objective advice to clients. Half also said they believed commission does not fit with providing objective advice to consumers. A total of 47% of the audience agreed with the motion that "this house believes that remuneration by commission is incompatible with objective consumer advice" before the debate.
