LV= to publish '07 claims record to advisers

Protection firm LV= will make its 2007 claims record available to advisers to show their clients why it turns some claims away.

LV= says the guide, entitled ‘Critical Illness and Income Protection claims 2007 – Our claims performance’, will help consumers understand the application process and could help reduce the risk of non-disclosure. The firm publishes the guide as it announces its claims record for last year, when it paid 86% of claims across both its income protection (IP) and critical illness (CI) policies. This was an improvement on 2006, when 81% of CI and 86% of IP claims were paid by the protection specialists.
