Misys sells Assureweb to providers

Assureweb is now wholly-owned by a consortium of five product providers as Misys has sold Sesame's remaining 60% stake in the IFA portal to its existing shareholders.

In a stockmarket announcement, Misys says the product provider group which already held a 40% stake in Assureweb - Aegon, Clerical Medical, Friends Provident, Norwich Union and Scottish Widows - will now take full operational responsibility for Assureweb, which has gross assets of around £12m. John Pringle, formerly head of business change at Clerical Medical Financial Services, has been appointed to the Assureweb board as a non-executive director to represent the consortium.
