Ellis to hand over PFS role

John Ellis, head of public affairs at the Personal Finance Society, is leaving the organisation after a transitional period and will be replaced by Barclays' David Thomson.

Updated at 12:13pm: Ellis earlier told IFAonline he intended to leave the PFS in May, but in the last 15 minutes he has announced his contract has been extended "for some time" to help Thomson take over his role. His official departure date is still under discussion. Ellis joined the Life Insurance Association (LIA), which merged with the Society of Financial Advisers (SOFA) to become the PFS, in April 1988.
