Rivals poised as Friends Prov final merger details released

Resolution and Friends Provident have released the final merger details to the stock exchange this morning, paving the way for a counter move from Pearl and Standard Life.

The publication of the proposed £8.5bn merger’s shareholder documentation is expected to trigger bids for Resolution from the rivals, either as a joint or separate offer. Copies of the Prospectus and Scheme Circular are available at www.friendsprovident.com/merger and the Prospectus and Class 1 Circular at www.resolutionplc.com, until the date of the proposed amalgamation – expected to be 29 November.
