The number of house repossessions has increased by a startling 55% in the third-quarter of 2005 compared with the same period last year figures released this morning reveal.
The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) says there has also been an increase of 66% in the number of repossession orders made by lenders this quarter compared to the same period in 2004. During the third-quarter of 2005 there were 29,991 mortgage repossessions were presented to the country courts. Of these a total of 19,667 orders were made while the remaining 10,340 were suspended says the DCA report.
