Representatives of the UK financial adviser industry are meeting with international colleagues in Berlin this week to agree terms for a globally-recognised financial adviser standard.
A UK committee for ISO financial planning standards, along with the British Standards Institute, are gathering with representatives from financial planning bodies all over the world to establish the first ISO standard - apparently known as the ISO 222222 or 'six twos' – which not only seeks to build a specified standard of financial adviser competency and business acumen but which for the first time ever will create an ISO standard applicable only to the individual and not the firm.
