Aegon boosts critical illness proposition

From 7 July, the firm will be adding five more illnesses, including rheumatoid arthritis and open heart surgery, taking the total number of conditions covered to 36. In addition, Aegon says it has improved the definitions on three illnesses, including heart attack, as ranked by the Association of British Insurers (ABI). Aegon has also extended the maximum term on its guaranteed rates from 25 years to 40 years and launched a new 24 hour helpline run by Care First.
