Members of the Life Insurance Association have voted in favour of a merger with the Society of Financial Advisers, officials have just announced.
John Ellis, public affairs director at the LIA, says the membership voted with an 87% majority in favour of the merger to become part of the Personal Finance Society. The vote was held at 3pm this afternoon at the De Montford Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Total number of votes was around 3,000 or 17% of the LIA membership, says Ellis. Completion of the merger will now depend on the vote by Society of Financial Advisers’ members on Friday. IFAonline
