Unemployed mortgage adviser auctions himself on eBay

A Kent-based mortgage adviser put his services up for sale on online auction site eBay as a last resort after months of looking for work.

Andy Palmer, who was made redundant from Northern Rock last August, put his CV on the site in a bid to find a month's work. In his advert, the 30-year-old said he would work in any industry providing it had nothing to do with sex or illegal activities. His starting bid was £1,000 of which 25% would go to the NSPCC. eBay has now pulled Palmer's advert from its Auction area, as users are not allowed to sell 'intangibles' on this part of the site, but it now has a place in the Classified section.
