ABI to survey IFAs for commission review

IFAs and multi-tied advisers are being asked to get involved in a survey which will form part of the next stage of the ABI's review into the use of indemnity commissions.

Business consultancy Deloitte has been appointed to conduct the next stage of the ABI’s study of commission paid on financial advice, which will assess the likely impact of the proposed removal of indemnity commission on the financial services industry and the consumer. As part of that review, which will be presented to the ABI in the Autumn, Deloitte is consulting with the Association of IFAs to survey its membership about possible alternative funding options and the transitional arrangements which would arise if the industry moved away from the payment of indemnity commission.
