ABI's Walsh wins "Respect and Integrity" award

The Association of British Insurers' head of health insurance, Richard Walsh, has received a "Respect and Integrity" award from pinkfinance.com for ending discrimination against gay and bisexual men on life assurance.

Chris Morgan, editor of Pinkfinance.com, says Walsh was instrumental in securing equal treatment for gay men on life assurance with the new HIV and Insurance guidelines. As a result of reforms implemented by the ABI over the last two years, the new HIV and Insurance Best Practice question which will apply to all risk groups is: “Within the last five years have you been exposed to the risk of HIV?
