Institute of Insurance Brokers head dies

Andrew Paddick, director general of the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IBB), died on Wednesday night.

Barbara Bradshaw, director of the IIB, says in a statement his death follows a bout of flu, although “he was on good form” earlier this week. Paddick founded the IIB, which has more than 1,000 insurance broking members, in 1987. Graham Gomm, chairman of the IIB, says: “His battles with the General Accident, the Treasury and Regulators in general will long be remembered – a great fighter. “Andrew achieved the ‘impossible’ with the formation of Broker Direct, which has gone from strength to strength.” John Greenway, president of the IIB, says: "For twenty years his unique style of represe...
