Merrill Lynch poaches West and Maher from Barclays

Merrill Lynch has appointed Barclays Wealth directors Matthew West and Philip Maher to build up the firm's advisory business for UK-based clients.

West and Maher will join the UK Advisory Team within Merrill Lynch Global Private Client (GPC), based in London, from April 30. The duo will report to Nick Tucker, head of Merrill Lynch GPC, UK and Ireland, and will be responsible for building up Merrill Lynch GPC’s advisory business for UK-based clients with assets between £1m and £10m. West and Maher spent 10 years at Barclays where they advised clients including individuals, trusts, companies, and charities.
