The Competition Commission (CC) has come under intense criticism today after proposing a ban on point-of-sale payment protection insurance (PPI).
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) is one of a number of organisations rounding on the CC for recommendations it says are "completely wrong" and "devastating" for consumers. Under the proposals, providers would be prohibited from selling PPI to a customer within 14 days of selling that individual another credit product. Additionally, single premium PPI would be banned for good.
