A number of homeowners say their mortgage repayments have dropped slightly since last year, according to the Bank of England (BoE).
According to the report, two in three mortgagors said payments remained level or fell over the last 12 months with only 16% of respondents seeing repayments increase by more than £50 a month. However, the BoE says households have found it more difficult to service their existing debt due to higher household bills leaving borrowers with less disposable income.
