Firms still not treating customers fairly

Only a third of Britons feel they are treated fairly by financial services companies, despite the ‘treating customers fairly' (TCF) implementation deadline being only two months away, according to a survey by Teamspirit.

The survey of 2,000 people by the marketing agency found only one in 10 (11%) thought loan companies treated them fairly, while 15% said the same about investment firms. A further 31% said credit card companies treated them fairly, compared with 34% for insurance companies and 35% for direct/online banks. High street banks and building societies performed better, receiving 53% and 56% respectively of public confidence that they are treating their customers fairly.
