Student landlords are being warned to ensure they have appropriate insurance cover if properties are unoccupied during the summer months.
As the summer holidays approach, Leaseguard, a specialist insurance provider for landlords and tenants, has called on but-to-let investors to check with their insurers to make sure they are covered during times of unoccupancy. Maryann McGee, Insurance Manager at Leaseguard, says: “You should contact your Buildings and Contents insurer as they may require you to notify them of a continuous period of unoccupancy.
