Credit Suisse adds Steel to JOHIM

Credit Suisse has revealed Andrew Steel will take up the post of chief executive officer at J O Hambro Investment Management (JOHIM) with immediate effect.

Steel, chief operating officer at JOHIM since 2004, will report to Maya Salzmann, head of market area UK/International/Eastern Europe for Credit Suisse’s private banking business and chair of JOHIM. He assumes this role from Anthony Balniel, one of the three co-founders of JOHIM, who will remain on the firm’s executive board. JOHIM, with assets under management of over £3bn, was acquired by the Credit Suisse Group in 2000.
