The Financial Services Authority is consumer-testing keyfacts documents to be extended across the entire regime of advised products.
David White, a spokesman for the FSA, has confirmed the FSA is looking to extend the keyfacts regime beyond the existing mortgage and general insurance Key Facts Illustrations, so consumers receive a KFI document at point of sale when purchasing any financial product under the advice of a financial intermediary. While the FSA is uncertain when KFIs would be rolled out across other products, officials in the investment and mortgage sectors anticipate a consultation will be launched later this summer, to see wider KFI use rolled out in 2006.
