A new investment management association has been formed to gain more influence in Europe

The UK Association of Unit Trusts and Investment Funds (Autif) and the Fund Managers Association (FMA) have merged to become the Investment Management Association (IMA). The move comes after months of discussions and a unanimous vote in favour on 29 January, following two meetings. The IMA will represent companies with combined assets of more than £2 trillion (£2,000bn) in a move that is hoped will give the organisation a greater voice across Europe.
