Three in four advisers think launching income protection with a shorter payout period would endanger the very essence of the cover, according to COVER's latest web poll. Some 75% of the respondents said a shortened payout period could effectively devalue the product. Only 25% disagreed. The FSA's Management Information deadline came at the end of March.
