Three in four advisers think launching income protection with a shorter payout period would endanger the very essence of the cover, according to COVER's latest web poll. Some 75% of the respondents said a shortened payout period could effectively devalue the product. Only 25% disagreed. The FSA's Management Information deadline came at the end of March. Following this, the regulator has added another deadline for the end of December this year when it expects firms to have fully implemented the rules set out in last month's deadline.
